After all the difficulty of the last two weeks with IT issues, I have to give thanks and praise that these issues are resolved and we had a smooth, busy day of operation yesterday.  Thank you Lord!

After all the frustration of last week’s technical difficulties, I was anticipating a relatively smooth couple of days before I break for the holiday——–NOT!

All is working properly here in my domain, but around 11am, when the west coast came online, everything went to *&## in a handbag!  We have been like hamsters running on the wheel since then – repeating the same procedure over and over and getting the same results over and over.  ENOUGH!!!!

I do not enjoy paying wages for 3 offices and having everything stalled because somebody (at WHQ) didn’t prepare properly for the amount of volume we have been having.  It makes me really angry to not be able to give reliable service to our clients.  I hate telling them something and then calling back and telling something else—-it make us appear incompetent and I hate that!!!!!!!!!!!

If it would do any good, I would go out into the street and SCREAM!

Hallelujah!  God is good and I am thankful for technicians who are also good.  We have FINALLY, after spending the day with a Bellsouth technician and an IT technician today, gotten all our issues resolved and my system is running without any bumps or glitches!!!!!!  I am SOOOO ready for the weekend now.   For all you out there that are hitting the stores Christmas shopping this weekend — Hope you find great sales and lots of bargains!

Yesterday was a day of dead end streets.  I am having IT problems with two of my offices which are preventing the software I need from downloading.  We are in a nationwide network which feeds us the software and updates automatically – IF your network is working properly.  Mine isn’t at this time.  Hours and hours online with support.  No solutions and can’t even seem to determine where the issues are coming from.  YIKES – I go live tomorrow with this program.  My office in Mtwn had a major crash – thankfully I still had one computer in a box unopened and we got that one there and finally about 9:pm that office was ready for software delivery.  Today – I have to go back and work on my network problem and check to make sure the others are up and ready.  I almost wish I could just chuck them all and say FORGET IT!  But……………………………Computer Smash Please pray that I don’t come to this point – still frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Training, training and more training

12 Nov
I think I will just die if I have to attend another training session.  Oops, don’t guess I should say that because I have training to conduct still.  Not only do we attend meetings, now we have to watch webcast of them, complete on-line programs – complete with tests that have to be passed now (have to score at least 80).  I think I have logged enough training hours in the past years to have a PhD in taxology.  Just call me Dr. Cindy!Doctor

Last week’s review

27 Oct

Orlando, Florida – 2008 National Convention

Up bright and early Monday morning to catch our flight and spend 5, very fast days in Orlando, Florida –  Hubbie, me and 3 office leaders.  By the time Friday night, back home, came – I was dragging my you know what.  It was fun, it was tiring, we had one major scare and I am glad it is over.  Here is a condensed version of the week:

Monday: arrival and bus to Coronado Springs resort

Monday night:  Disney gala – danced with hubbie

Tuesday:  Recognition of Top 100 – yes one of them was ME!!! Presentations by the big guys, one particularly good one included “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch.  You can find it on U Tube.

Entertainment of the morning, jugglers – they were really good

Tuesday night:  Mickey’s Not so Scarey Halloween Party (I am too old for that stuff – it was fun, but I was exhausted)

Wednesday:  Boring stuff – tax stuff, blah, blah, blah  CRISIS – Then:  Trouble at WKU, lockdown, couldn’t reach kids, Bro. Ray calls, heard from Andrew, finally heard from Nick, everyone okay, whew, relief!   Back to boring tax stuff.

Wednesday night:  Took a boat to the Disney Boardwalk. Then Downtown Disney – loved the Swan and Dolphin resort.

Thursday:  more tax stuff, break sessions, more tax stuff, more blah, blah, blah

Thursday night:  Banquet at SEAWORLD!! Took tons of pictures, too many to post.  I can’t even imagine what HR paid for this!!! We had shrimp cocktails and crab claws, chicken, fish, pork, desserts like you wouldn’t believe and a special show from Shamu!

Friday: Great presentation by Disney and then a presentation from the criminal investigation division of IRS (boy you would have loved THIS one)

Finally:  conclusion and annoucement of next year’s location. Can’t actually say, but we will be hoping to take our boys to see some COWBOYS!!!

Hard to believe, but life can go by quickly and change just as quickly. We are very thankful to all be home and well. Thank you Jesus!

17 Oct

12:53 am and I have just come home from the office.

Send off for retreat tonight – I had to support my sweetie.

Back to computer work afterwards.  Snags here and there, but finally hit one I couldn’t fix.  I called support and those guys had gone home to bed.  If I’m up working late, why aren’t they???  I didn’t make the decision to move the deadline up two weeks at the last minute.  I’d be willing to bet that the company execs weren’t at the office at midnight tonight either!

So, I go back tomorrow during “business” hours in order to talk to some techie nerd that can tell me what the dickens isn’t working right!!!!

On a happier note:  both my kids will be home this weekend – I have to think of something to make for dinner tomorrow that they will really like.  I miss them so much and will be so glad to see them.  Praise God they are in college, and thank God they still come home most weekends.
