Christmas Eve

24 Dec

It’s Christmas Eve morning and here I sit writing on my blog.  Presents all wrapped, food ready to take to in-laws and all my guys have gone to the gym to work out. Last night after church we watched The Nativity.  It is such a beautiful movie.  We saw it in the theater last Christmas season.  I never tire of that story—such a miraculous thing.  In the movie, when the Magi were presenting their gifts to the baby king and they were proclaiming who He was, I realized once again, how incredible that was.  Three intellectual men, studying and following the progression of the prophecy, were watching for THE sign–the star that would lead them to the Christ child.  Their journey was far and not easy, but they pursued it.  They were certain of the thing they were seeking to find.  They were apparently not of Jewish heritage (?), but still knew of the promise.  When they saw him, they did not hesitate to proclaim that He was the King of Kings.  They laid their gifts before Him.  They knew who He was—they knew what the prophecy foretold.  They had no doubt.    AMAZING!!!!

Made me ask myself… I watchful for the signs??  He will return.  That is the promise.  But how watchful are we??? Do we know well enough to recognize like these Magi did? I know I am so easily distracted by the activity of life that I forget.  But I pray that in this next year, God will hone my senses and allow me to perceive the indications that He is indeed returning.  Keep me ever mindful of the eternal aspects of life and let every Christ follower have this prayer in their heart – “Come Lord Jesus”.

Merry Christmas~! I’ve not seen that movie yet and it makes me want to! I got chills reading this blog. I have been so impressed by the Christmas story this year…to find myself in it…in the seekers, the dreamers, the worshippers, the light shiner…

    Love you!
    Have a great week!
