Check this place out.

9 Aug

Tuesday was the first soccer scrimmage this year.  This is Kid #2’s first year to play soccer in high school (and his last since he graduates this year).  It was extremely hot Tuesday and I really dreaded going, but hey, I’m a dedicated mom.  We got there and this place was so neat.  They played pre-dusk so it was actually pleasant—not cool, but tolerable because of the place being completely in shade.  After walking across the bridge, it was like stepping back in time, with the old-fashioned wooden stands and concession.  There were nostalgic sort of paintings and signs and they said that Babe Ruth had actually played here once.  This is also the home of a semi-professional team called the Tradewater Pirates.  I wanted to share these pictures for anyone who had not been there—I hope your kids will play there someday.

I’ve actually been by there several times. We go to Lake Brashear a lot with our fishing boat. The pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Hubbie had been there before. His nephew was playing for a while with the Tradewater Pirates. He said that the water was really low, even the place where the spillover is wasn’t even spilling over it was so low. Still I thought it was beautiful and loved it.
