The passing of a friend….

6 Aug

Yesterday we celebrated the passing of a friend–Jerry.  I learned a few things about him yesterday that I didn’t know.  It’s so amazing that when someone dies how many people come out of the woodwork that the deceased person may not have ever thought was a friend.  That was the case with Jerry.  Originally, only 30 or 40 were anticipated, but there were about 100 at the funeral.  Hubbie delivered his eulogy.  VERY VERY hard thing to do.  He did a beautiful job, even though there were a few moments that I thought he wouldn’t make it.  That would have been okay.  He broke down after he finished and cried openly, like one of us girls would have done.  That was okay too.  I never thought about how tears of sorrow are part of the celebration process.  It happens when people marry, when kids leave home for college, when they start their first day of kindergarten, etc., etc.,   We are sorry for the stage of life that has passed, but must, with gladness,  turn our eyes to the stage that is beginning.  Scripture says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  Praise God!!!!!!!  Jerry will be missed!

Now, I do not want to wait until a time of sorrow to let each of you know that you are a tender spot in my heart.  Each and every one of you. Specifically those who read the blog:  Rosi, Kim, Beth, Carla, Kelli, Cheryl, Stacey, Dana, Joan, Susan, and many more who don’t read or blog.  Know you has made a difference in my life and should you make it to God’s heaven before me—-you will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Earnestly and tenderly,

Love you
