A miracle to start the weekend…

4 May

I thought I’d share a story from a mom on a board I frequent. Her daughter is almost 2 years old and recently she noticed, after a few people commented,  that she has a lazy eye.  To make a long story short… she took her to the Pediatrician and among the possible causes is a rare cancer of the eye. The earliest she could get into a pediatric opthamologist is this Monday. With this cancer… the pupil will show up white in pictures instead of the normal red eye. After further inspection… her daughter’s eye looked a little weird and not red in most of the pictures she could find.  Yesterday, she woke up totally convinced that her daughter has cancer. The doctor’s words, “if it is cancer… at least we have caught it early.” rang in her head all night.

Yesterday, a friend called her to see if she would like to go to the rally for the National Day of Prayer. She was distraught and although she had spent a good portion of the past few days in serious prayer… she hadn’t planned on going. At the last minute, she changed her mind and went along. During a segment of the prayer on the health and well-being of our children, she completely broke down in tears and walked to the side of the crowd. A minister and a few others came to her and started to pray with her. Her daughter, Jayna, was on her back in a carrier and reached out to hold the minister’s hand. (This is apparently not typical for her to be so unafraid of people she does not know.) Her friend also put her hand on her back. As they were praying for Jayna, one of the people annointed Jayna with oil and during the prayer JoLynda said that she could feel a surge of energy pulse through Jayna and her. It was so strong that her friend felt it as well. She said she has never before experienced such a thing and had it not happened to her, she would never have believed it.

She has total faith that her daughter has been healed. It was such an awesome experience for her and her entire attitude has changed from one of worry to one of rejoicing and faith.  She will not know anything conclusive until the appointment with the specialist on Monday but she has faith it will only confirm that she does not have cancer. 🙂 Please keep Jayna in your prayers and I will update on Monday!

I hope you all have a blessed weekend! I can’t wait to hear how the Banquet is going.
